WHEN ELDERS MEDITATE
When Elders Meditate is a wellness program for senior citizens that is subsidized by our supporting membership. Every two weeks, Fimo Mitchell guides participants through a meditation session that is followed by a time of sharing. Then Tanja guides 30 minutes of revitalizing chair yoga leaving seniors refreshed and limber.
When Elders Meditate aims to support the social participation and inclusion of seniors while fortifying their mental and physical health. We are going on 5 years of programming for our beloved seniors - come and join us!​

Meditation has many physical and psychological benefits for older adults, including better focus, enhanced calmness, less stress, and improved sleep. Research shows that meditation can reduce depression and pain as well as boost emotional well-being.
Meditation can also help adults come to terms with the challenges of aging. It is associated with enhanced short and long-term memory. A recent study showed that it might even slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s.
