About The Village
When The Village Meditates is a nonprofit dedicated to providing meditation programs, discussion groups and wellness retreats for racialized and marginalized people. Fimo Mitchell founded the nonprofit during the summer of 2020 with the hope of offering a safe and inclusive space where individuals may embark on a journey inward while being part of an empathetic and compassionate community. When The Village Meditates is a place of contemplation, connection and healing.
NEW GUIDED MEDITATION FOR YOU
Starting on May 30 you're invited to join Mornings from Monday to Friday at 7am (EST) for a 10-15 minute guided meditation followed by a time of intention setting and sharing. Although we meet on Zoom you're not required to turn on your camera. Just know that Fimo always has on his and enjoys seeing people's faces. To gain access to Mornings, become a member here.
Every Saturday at 8am we meditate for 20 minutes and then hold space for each other for 40 minutes. The deep sharing and empathetic listening are highlights of this meditation circle. Saturday Sessions is a great space to deepen your meditation practice and be in community. Click here to join us.
When We Talk is a courageous and safe space for Black people to see, hear and uplift one another. Every month we discuss a new topic but the goal remains the same: to create community. Since the first gathering in March of 2021, When We Talk has grown into a group of people that care about each other and feel they belong together. When We Talk happens on the last Wednesday of every month. Please contact us to join the next
